At first glance this looks like animal cruelty, but the coyote is fiberglass and was installed at Spy Pond to scare away Canadian geese. Judging by the numbers of geese grazing on the banks, he seems to have had limited effect.

With nearly a million specimens representing over 5,000 species, the Museum of Comparative Zoology boasts the world's largest collection of ants. Their classification and study has been the lifelong pursuit of Harvard Professor Edward O. Wilson. This drawer contains ants belonging to the genus Pheidole, the subject of a forthcoming book by Wilson. There are more species of Pheicole than any other any genus, making it the largest itn the world.

"A weevil is any beetle from the Curculionoidea superfamily. They are usually small, less than 6 mm (¼ inch), and herbivorous. There are over 60,000 species in several families, mostly in the family Curculionidae (the true weevils). Some other beetles, although not closely related, bear the name "weevil", such as the biscuit weevil (Stegobium paniceum), which belongs to the family Anobiidae.
Many weevils are damaging to crops. The grain or wheat weevil (Sitophilus granarius) damages stored grain. The boll weevil (Anthonomus grandis) attacks cotton crops. It lays its eggs inside cotton bolls, and the young weevils eat their way out.
Weevils are often found in dry foods including nuts and seeds, cereal and grain products, such as pancake mix. In the domestic setting, they are most likely to be observed when a bag of flour is opened. Their presence is often indicated by the granules of the infested item sticking together in strings, as if caught in a cobweb. If ingested, E. coli infection and other various diseases can be contracted from weevils, depending on their diet."

The Oceanium is an aquarium that opened in 2001 in Diergaarde Blijdorp, a zoo in Rotterdam, Netherlands. The Oceanium lies in the expansion area of the zoo, which includes a new entrance and parking area, and was the biggest project to date for the zoo. The area around the Oceanium is home to projects depicting the Americas.
The Oceanium is also home to scientific research into the conservation of coral.

Her name Holmes. In a poor cat abandoned immediately after birth, 1 year old now. It's curious, but vigilance is strong. If you are not yearning to Goriza, you have to get along all the time. Two cats are living in cabin of the field in the Tomei Expressway near Yokohama Inter.

These photos are from Sunday December 18, 2011. There was sad news as Reno was scheduled to put put down on Monday the 19th. Reno was just too sick and was not responding to care. As always, Reno was near Theo and Zowie.

It has a wide range of habitats, including hardwood hammocks, thickets, and gardens. The zebra longwing is found throughout the state, although it is more common in south Florida, particularly in the Everglades National Park. In 1996 the state legislature designated the zebra longwing as the official state butterfly.
