I got sucked into playing stuffed animals (violently; just stuffed animals killing each other) with some of the other kids. It was actually super fun!...aside from feeling exhausted after 3 minutes.

Hi everyone at Lollypop Farm,
Last October we adopted a Schipperke who was then named Deuce. We brought him home and renamed him Nero. He is my best friend. He goes everywhere I go. He sleeps in my bed and he really acts like a person now. He was on a few medications when we first brought him home and he is off all of them, except because of some stiffness that I noticed in his hips I started him on some glucosamine and he really has a lot more flexibility. He likes to play and run and act silly from time to time. My family really loves him as well. He is very smart and does some fun tricks. He'll do just about anything for a liver treat. He loves the snow, but we really haven't had enough for him to play in for any long period of time. I would like to share some pictures of him. He's come a long way.

At 6:00 in the evening the temperature was still about 95 F. Mack could have come inside where it was nice and cool but he preferred to languish about outside.

Seriously! This is a mad cat. Most days it looks at me as if it has never seen me before then shoots through the catflap (visable in picture) at about 750 mph! I have repaired it twice!
Other days it will cuddle up to you like you are the most wonderful person on Earth. Like I said Mad Cat.

"Ekko" is Danish for "Echo"--we just have to be a little perverse. Her name comes from Echo Dogs White Shepherd Rescue (www.echodogs.org), the source of our new dog. We met her foster "mom" and her family in Chicago on Saturday when they met us about halfway between their home in Kentucky and ours in Minnesota. She's very timid about some things, but she's warming up really well already.

Oranjello explores our couch for the very first time. We kept him in the utility room downstairs for the first few days, because going from a tiny cage to a 2500 sq ft house can be too much stimulus for a little kitten.

The American lion (Panthera atrox) — also known as the North American lion or American cave lion — is an extinct feline of the family Felidae, endemic to North America during the Pleistocene epoch 12,000 years ago. This statue is from the San Diego Zoo near thhe lion exhibits.
Approximately one hundred specimens of American lions have been recovered from the La Brea Tar Pits, in Los Angeles, so their body structure is well known. The features and teeth of the extinct American lion strongly resemble modern lions, but they were considerably larger, weighing 550 - 775 pounds.

Derby was our pet cockatiel. We had him for 5 years...though we were at least the 3rd owner of him. He was very fun to have. He died in July 05 while we were away.
The hardest thing about his death was telling our 4 year old niece. Seeing her quiet and sad was tough. But her understanding was so sweet. God will now take care of him and feed him.
Bye bye Derby. We miss calling to you and you whistling back.
