Went to the Buttonwood Park Zoo in New Bedford, Massachusetts today with the kids for their "ZOObilee", a change-up from what they've been doing the past few years for the holiday season (previously, they did "Cookies with Santa"–I liked this program better, since it actually gets you out into the zoo and not just hanging around the visitor center.)

This is the oldest of the zoo's harbor seals (he's 31, although I don't think the zookeeper mentioned his name.) The eye looks cloudy because, well, it is–the seal has a cataract in his right eye. Apparently eye problems are a common malady in aging seals, just like they are in people.

The pattern on the seal is making it hard for me to tell if it just looks that way or if I should have bumped the ISO up another stop.

Nikon D7000 w/Nikkor 18-200mm @ 200mm, 1/90s @ ƒ/5.6, ISO200. Cropped and color processing in Aperture.
